LIANZA CHILDREN & YOUTH SERVICES NETWORK
Every second Tuesday of the month, 2-3 PM
LIANZA offers a time and space for children and youth service librarians and library staff to connect in a peer-to-peer network. This network supports anyone from within the profession engaging with children, youth, parents and whānau. We invite you to jump online on the second Tuesday of the month to share your ideas, experiences and questions with your CYS colleagues across Aotearoa.

July 8 – THE NZ CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULT BOOK AWARDS
What’s involved in being the LIANZA representative on the NZCYA Book Awards? What books are on this year’s longlist, and how can libraries help promote these?
Come along to this interactive session with Laura Caygill, LIANZA’s representative on the NZCYA Book Awards and a previous book awards judge, to learn about these awards and LIANZA’s role in supporting them. This is a great opportunity to learn about how your library can celebrate the best of New Zealand’s books for children and youth.
Laura Caygill is Operations Manager at Selwyn Libraries. She is the current LIANZA representative and was one of the judges for the 2022 New Zealand Book Awards for Children & Young Adults. Laura worked as a journalist before moving into libraries. She has worked in libraries in Ōtautahi, Tāmaki Makaurau, and Waimakariri.
These sessions are NOT recorded so that we can encourage discussion, questions and the sharing of experiences.
