LIANZA TEL SIG ONLINE JOURNAL DISCUSSION GROUP
Last Thursday, every second month, 5.00PM-6.00PM

LIANZA TEL SIG Journal Discussion Groups meet on a bi-monthly basis to discuss articles relevant to tertiary institutions. Each article is connected to a LIANZA Body of Knowledge (BoK).

Upcoming session:

With ANZAC day falling on the last Thursday of April we have moved the online discussion to Wednesday April 24 at 5pm. We would love for you to join us in what looks to be another interesting discussion around AI.

This month’s article:

Jun Wang, Steven G. Anderson, & Yali Feng. (2024). Ethical Considerations in Integrating AI in Research Consultations: Assessing the Possibilities and Limits of GPT-based Chatbots. Journal of Escience Librarianship, 13(1). https://doi.org/10.7191/jeslib.846

With the questions:

  • What are the risks of using (or not using) chatbots in research consultations?
  • What’s your users’ attitude towards using AI applications in research consultations?
  • With the fast-developing AI applications, any feedback from your communities? What can we do to prepare ourselves and our users to face the changes?

There are three groups:

To join a group, please contact Diana McMahon-Reid - diana.mcmahon-reid@manukau.ac.nz or Kate Reynolds - kate.reynolds@waikato.ac.nz
