LIANZA TEL SIG WEBINAR - USER EXPERIENCE (UX) IN LIBRARIES
Wednesday April 10, 12.00NOON-1.00PM

This webinar will provide you with real examples of people and initiatives illustrating the value of UX in libraries. Come and join us to learn about:

  • UX initiatives happening right now
  • The International User Experience in Libraries Conference 2023
  • How to get UX initiatives started in your library.

Although our presenters are from the tertiary library sector, library colleagues from all sectors are welcome. UX is a methodology that can be used in most library settings. The presenters are:

Jacinda Boivin
Jacinda is a member of the Client Services team at the University of Otago Library. With a focus on providing excellent customer service, she oversees Interloan services and the provision of support and services to Distance students. Jacinda also spearheads a theses digitisation project. Her role is wide and varied and requires collaboration across library departments and across libraries. In recognition of Jacinda’s customer service focus, she was selected in 2022 to coordinate and lead a User Experience (UX) working group, to implement a 2 year trial of UX research methodology at the University of Otago Library.

Bridey Newell
Bridey is part of the Library’s Client Services team at Te Herenga Waka. Client Services is the first point of contact for patrons, and helps with general and library-specific queries, as well as referrals to other university departments. They spearhead UX research and development related to the physical library spaces and frontline services.

Sonya Pearce
Sonya works as the Library Engagement Coordinator at Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington library. She promotes the digital and physical collection, spaces, services and expertise across a selection of platforms to reach its varied clients. As chair of the library's UX advisory committee, she co-designs user testing for library systems, physical spaces and services.
