This is the second webinar introducing the themes of the new LIANZA Freedom-to-read Toolkit. This session is about understanding the legal and ethical framework behind libraries' responses to books and other challenges. Rupert Ablett-Hampson from Te Maana Whakaatu Classification Office will join us to discuss their role and the process they take when receiving classification requests. This webinar will also include a look at the Bill of Rights and Human Rights Acts and statements endorsing freedom of access to information.
Joining Rupert Ablett-Hampson will be Nicole Browne, a lawyer from the Office of Human Rights Proceedings, and Louise LaHatte and Marlies Zyp-Vanderlaan from the LIANZA freedom of Information standing committee.
