LIANZA TE UPOKO O TE IKA A MĀUI WEBINAR - BEHIND THE SCENES WITH CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULT LIBRARY PROFESSIONALS  
Friday September 15, 1.00PM - 2.30PM

You will enjoy hearing from these dedicated library professionals working in school and public libraries with children and youth. They will share their amazing mahi in their special areas of library work.

  • Claudine Crabtree - School Library Association of New Zealand Aotearoa SLANZA president, in her own words, is “passionate about reading engagement and lifelong learning”. Claudine will talk about reading for pleasure.
  • Clare Forrest - Rāroa Normal Intermediate school librarian will talk about the school librarian role in Aotearoa and the work SLANZA does in supporting school librarians and school libraries.
  • Mary Barnett - Children and Youth Services Specialist for Wellington City Libraries will talk about their mahi to support teens, youth engagement, and youth nights offered by Wellington City Libraries.
  • Stephen Clothier - Children and Youth Services Coordinator Wellington City Libraries, will focus on the opportunities for collaboration with the redesign of Te Matapihi ki te Ao Nui Wellington Central Library and the role of the public library in the lives of children, young people, and their families.
  • Joseph Robinson - Children and Youth Services Specialist at Wellington City Libraries will talk about the increase in questions about Aotearoa New Zealand History from school students. At Wellington City Libraries, they help teachers and students find resources to aid them in their enquiries, providing resource guides and class visit opportunities
