As library services grow to reflect the changing needs of our community’s library staff are being asked to upskill and work in new ways. Yet finding the time to create, deliver and present training modules is one of the biggest challenges across all library sectors.
In this session, Rosamund Feeney from Nelson Public Libraries will share how she developed a core competencies training model which has been successful in upskilling staff and creating a consistent level of service. She will look at how to make training more staff-led, so it encourages skill sharing and contributes to a positive and confident library culture. This is a hands-on webinar that will talk you through how to identify the needs in your library and develop a core competencies model that works for you and your staff.
Rosamund presented on core competencies training at the LIANZA 2021 Conference.
Rosamund Feeney started working in university libraries in 2015 before making the move into the public sector. She was the LIANZA Aoraki regional councillor from 2019-2021 and has presented at various LIANZA conferences and weekend schools.
