LIANZA TELSIG: AN UPDATE FROM OCLC RESEARCH
Thursday November 17, 12NOON - 1PM

Library collaboration as a strategic choice, the next generation of metadata, and reimagined descriptive workflows

Join Dr Brian Lavoie, Dr Richard J. Urban, and Merrilee Proffitt from OCLC as they talk about the latest findings from OCLC Research.

Since 1978, the OCLC Research team has carried out research and made technological advances that enhance the value of library services and improve the productivity of librarians and library users. Learn more about OCLC.

This session will review recent outputs including:

  • Library Collaboration as a Strategic Choice: Evaluating Options for Acquiring Capacity - a project which delivers tools and insights to support academic libraries in making strategic decisions about cross-institutional collaboration opportunities.
  • Transitioning to the Next Generation of Metadata and Reimagine Descriptive Workflows - an exploration into how cataloging practices, values, and technologies are changing rapidly – and how metadata capacities and communities can support this change.
