LIANZA TELSIG: THE STATE OF OPEN ACCESS IN AOTEAROAWednesday October 19, 1PM - 2PM
Five years of publishing trends for NZ researchThis event is an Open Access week appetizer
For five years now the Council of New Zealand University Librarians (CONZUL) has been examining the state of Open Access in Aotearoa. Looking at how much of our research is behind paywalls, how much did it cost to make some of it open, and how well do we utilise our repositories? In this session, Jess Howie and Richard White will present an update on the latest findings in this long-running project that gave us the first idea of how open our work is. Find out if anything has changed and where things might be headed as we head into a new phase of our journey to a more open system.
About the presenters:
Jess Howie is the Open Research Manager at the Te Whare Wānanga o Waikato, the University of Waikato and leads the Aotearoa Scholarly Communication Community of Practice.
Richard White is the Manager Copyright & Open Access at Te Whare Wānanga o Ōtākou. They have both been involved in the CONZUL project since 2019.Image: Richard by Catriona McKillop
