LIANZA TEL SIG ONLINE SESSION - E-TEXTBOOK: THE PROS & CONS

LIANZA TEL SIG Committee is happy to announce our August online session. The topic this time is managing e-textbooks. Tertiary librarians are facing a rapidly changing environment in managing electronic resources. In recent years, we have seen some unfavourable licence changes on electronic textbooks from major academic publishers. Some changes are easier to manage than others.

While electronic textbooks provide opportunities for our users, they are bringing many issues too. We invite you to come and hear librarians from different institutions discussing their workflow, concerns, and successes with e-textbooks. Panel discussions include time for you to share your experiences and comments.

The two panelists are:

• Aisha Le Frantz, Collection Policy and Development Librarian from Victoria University of Wellington Library
• Jo-Ann Cowie, Collection Manager from Massey University Library
