Confidence and Continuity – Managing Public Sector Information during a Pandemic

LIANZA is delighted to provide information management training with content to enable you to meet the challenges of the current conditions, at a special pandemic-only registration rate.

Led by Paddy Plunket 8 Legs Information Management, this course aims to give those with responsibility for public sector information a framework for evaluating their information management during the current pandemic and identifying and implementing any changes to reduce risk. The goal is to have public records well-organised and available to help the agency do its work, as well as provide a valuable record of the impact of COVID-19 and the response.

How will the course be offered?
Your course will have a maximum of six participants and your commitment is four x 30 minute webinars over four subsequent days using Zoom.  You will have exercises to complete between webinars and have a one-hour-long individual follow-up session with Paddy to create your agency action plan.

Course One: Monday April 6 –Thursday April 9, each day at 2.00pm  
Course Two: Tuesday April 14 – Friday April 17, each day at 2.00pm

Paddy Plunket 8 Legs Information Management

Paddy’s career in information, records and knowledge management spans three decades and includes leading knowledge management teams and system focused change projects in both the public and private sector. Most recently she spent seven years as a Senior Consultant at Information Leadership where she delivered training courses in managing public records, taxonomy design, foundations for information management and retention and disposal implementation.

Paddy is also a practitioner, and has provided information strategies and road-maps, information governance and risk frameworks and retention and disposal schedule design and implementation for a range of organisations including the Ministry of Transport, Ministry for Housing and Urban Development, Te Arawhiti, The Waitangi Tribunal, Wakatu Incorporation, the Productivity Commission and Te Tumu Paeroa.

Paddy’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Education and English, a Diploma of Library and Information Studies and a Masters Degree in Information Management (with Distinction). She is a qualified Agile Scrum Master and has completed Prince 2 Project and Programme Management Training.

In her spare time, Paddy can be found peering into rock pools on Wellington’s South Coast hoping to catch a glimpse of one of the 41 species of octopus that inhabit New Zealand’s coastal waters.
